When I first looked at this game, it more or less struck me as a game similar to Resident Evil 4. Same play style, about a biological agent that turns humans into living weapons. However, it is very different from it's survival horror counterpart.
darkSector revolves around Hayden Tenno, an ex-special operative pulled out off early retirement and sent into Larisa in Russia, to investigate and eliminate a possible virus outbreak. He arrives at a small island fortress, and is infected by the Techocyte virus. Barely surviving the fortress's destruction, Hayden stumbles from the waters, but not long after, he's confronted by a Larisaian soldier. Without any weapons and in his weakened state, Hayden appears down for the count.
When he suddenly slashes the soldier with a blade that comes out off nowhere. The man dies, and from nowhere his comrade rushes in, only to have his head cut off by the Glaive.
The Glaive adds a brand new twist. It can be use to incapacitate enemies quickly, can be controlled after it's thrown, can take on the properties of the elements it comes into contact with. As Hayden's infection grows, he stops looking for a cure, claiming the virus makes him stronger and he's never felt this good before. In time, Hayden can bring up barriers to deflect enemy fire back at them, turn invisible to sneak up on enemies and displays other feats of inhuman abilities, such as super strength, speed and agility.
The enemies of darkSector are pretty basic horror creatures. The basic enemy are the Larisaian soldiers wearing hazmat gear. In time, you'll meet zombie like creatures, altered humans who no longer ressemble their human form and large monsters such as the Colussus and the Stalker. My favourite threat had to be the Jackel, a motorised walking tank that you can take control of on more than one occasion.
However, come for the nice story, dont' stay for the online play. Incredibly laggy, you'll be left there, wondering what the hell happened. And the game doesn't offer a lot of replay value unfortunatly.
Buy it if you like Bio-Boosted Armour Guyver-inspired designs and crazy DNA alternated viruses.

I do it for the lulz.
Lulz.
You've won an internet.

Douche often. Fishy vaginas make men unhappy.
But if anyone else comes on spouting words of abuse, they will be reported and then banned from posting on this page again. I don't want to have to do this, but I'm not prepared to take shit this time.
